Recipe : Bread Pudding with Dates and Almond
Another simple dessert that I love. It's mama recipe, i just add a lil bit of Sabby's style. Hehe :D
Ingredients :
1 loaf of Jumbo size bread (I used Gardenia - I used the bread crust from 3 jumbo size, balance from making sandwiches last week. Using old bread its better actually)
3/4 tin of condensed milk
3 eggs
3 tablespoons of butter/margarine
500ml - 700ml Water
7pcs of dates (chopped)
8pcs of almond (chopped into small pcs)
1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
Methods :
1. Get a large bowl and tear up bread. Put in butter. Set aside.
2. In another bowl, break the eggs, add in the milk and water. Whisk until everything is well mixed.
3. Pour the batter into the bread bowl. Using hand (or spatula if u want) mash up everything. Just remember that bread will soak up liquid quickly so careful with the qty of water you are using because the mixture should not be watery. The mixture should be thick and soft enough to be poured in the baking pan.
4. Add in dates into the mixture, mix well and pour into the baking pan.
5. Sprinkle almond and ground cinnamon.
6. Bake in the oven for about 20mins or until the crust turns brown. My oven temperature is 220 degrees btw.
7. Let the pudding cool down and chill it in the fridge at least for a couple of hours. Personally, I prefer the pudding to be in the fridge overnight, it'll taste better. :)
