My favourite recipe ever! Got it from a booklet in Women's Weekly magazine. So easy and so simple. I love it so much coz I can prep ahead, then assemble when it's time to feed the hungry tummies. :) hehehe
Here we go!
Ingredients :
250g elbow macaroni
250g minced beef
200g brocolli
1 carrot
1 can Prego Cheese & Herbs
300ml milk
250g grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese (sometimes I use both)
Methods :
1. Cook the macaroni, following the instruction at the back of the packaging. Set aside.
2. Fry minced meat until cooked. Set aside.
3. Cut the brocolli into smaller pcs. Blanch and set aside.
4. Diced up the carrot. Blanch and set aside.
5. Heat the prego cheese and herbs, add in milk. Stir until the mixture is well combined and smooth. Set aside.
6. Reheat the oven at 200 degrees.
7. In a large bowl, mix the macaroni, minced beef and 1/2 of the white sauce. Mix until all the macaroni and beef is well combined with the sauce.
8. In a 2 litre shallow baking tray, layer the macaroni and minced beef mixture. Then add on broccoli, carrot and distribute the remaining sauce evenly. Layer on top with cheese.
9. Bake around 30-40 mins or until the cheese turns golden brown.
10. Serve hot with chilli saucr or my favourite Nando's garlic sauce, yums!!
