Assalamulaikum and hello dearies!
I am back with another review, talking about my most favourite part of make up, yeahhhh, lip products! I am obsessed with lip products because I feel lip is the sexiest part of the face. :P Starting today, I am beginning a series called Sexy Sunday where I will upload blog posts about lip products every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month (If I have more products to share, definitely every Sunday). You know, review, swatches, lip products I've been loving and maybe information on new products and stuff. What do you girls think? Do you think it's a good idea? :) You see how much I love lip products to the extend I want to dedicate a whole series towards it? ^_^
Lets get started on the review of my new favourite lip gloss, NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair.
NYX Butter Gloss has been in the Malaysian market for quite some time. I've heard about it all over YouTube and that triggers me to try it out. But unfortunately whenever I went to Sephora, they were always out of stock or left with the shades that I am not fond of. So when I went to Perth in November last year, I managed to pick it up at Target. The price is RM30.15 in Perth, definitely higher than Ringgit Malaysia. You can actually get it at RM22 in Sephora if I'm not mistaken. NYX Butter Gloss is a sheer to medium coverage lip gloss that provides moisture to your lips. It really is! And I love the fact that it is not sticky. I am very particular about the stickiness of any lip glosses that I am planning to buy. I hate sticky lip glosses with a passion. Another good thing about these glosses is that it smells like butter and vanilla. Oh my, I just want to eat it! The lip glosses comes in 22 shades and they are all so pretty but I don't think they have every shades in Sephora. You girls can try searching online shops, I think I saw a few selling NYX products. Check out NYX Official Website for more info on the Butter Gloss!
Lets talk about packaging. The usual lip gloss packaging with plastic tub with that has sponge like applicator. I think it's called doe-foot? Correct me I'm wrong. I love this type of applicator because it makes application easy. I don't really like the brush type applicator because to me it does not spread out the product well compare to the sponge like tip.
I got mine in Eclair which is a baby pink with a blue tone shade. When I swatched it, I fell in love with it because that is the type of pink I like. However, I didn't try it on because I don't like to use tester on my lip. When I got back and try it on my lips, the shade is nothing like my swatch. I have a pigmented lips so that colour did not really show up on my lips.
To me this is very neutral and it only makes my lips glossy without the desired shade.
To get my desired Nude Pink lips, I paired it up with my Face of Australia Lip Quench Moisturizing Lipstick in Lychee Crush. You know I love my nude lips. :D By reading the name then you would know that this is a moisturizing lipstick. It contains Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and Shea Butter. Honestly, it is one of the creamiest and moisturizing lip products that I have ever used. The down side about this lipstick is the scent. It is so bad because it smells like old lady lipstick, or maybe even worst! At first when I put it on, I literally wiped it off because it is stinky! -_- But since I have it and I don't want to waste it, I continue using it. The scent is still bothering me now but I know eventually I will just ignore it. But you know, pairing up with the NYX Butter Gloss does help to eliminate the scent a bit, not a lot, but yeah I can work with that. The range has 15 shades, click Face Of Australia for more info. :) Oh btw, I bought it at Big W, priced at AUD8.95 or RM27.12. I'm not sure where you can get it in Malaysia because I think it is only available in Australia.
Lychee Crush is a gorgeous nude pink shade. I absolutely love it when I swatched it but as usual when I got home and tried it on my lips, the shade totally washed out my look. I look super pale, I look like a walking zombie. It is not a good look. That is why , I paired it up with the NYX Butter Gloss to get the nude pink lips that I want.
The lighting in this photo is not good, but roughly I got the nude pink lips that I wanted.
Some people looks good in peachy nude lips, some in brownish nude and some in pinkish nude lips. As for me I think I am more suitable with brownish and peachy nude lips. But of course, I want to use all of my lip products even though some might not suit for me. When I first started using this combo, I don't really like it very much because I think it is too pale. But as I continue using it, I fell in love with the shade and I really think it's a wonderful nude pink lips for every day use. As for the longevity of both products, they don't have the staying power of a lip stain or such. It is typical lip products that will go away after eating or drinking or even after a few hours. But the level of the moisturization is great. :) You girls can mix your lip products that you don't use often to get the desired shades you want. It is such a waste for not using all of your lipsticks or lip glosses, don't you think so? Be creative and mix 2, 3 or even 4 lip products to create new awesome lip colour! ;)
What's your favourite nude pink lip products? Let me know in the comment below! ^_^
Till then,
