I get excited when I discovered a new brand that I
have never heard of, especially in the fashion line. Headscarf is an important
symbol to Muslim women, well as to me; it is the last step to complete my whole
outfit. Discovering a new headscarf brand is always a good thing, it's even
better if the brand is well established with 8 years of experience. Nala is a lifestyle brand that preserves
the Malaysian culture and heritage in a more modern approach. Everything you
see in Nala's designs are hand
drawn and a lot of effort and hard work has gone into each design to ensure
exclusivity and timeless designs. Nala started
off as a lifestyle brand that creates stationeries, home ware, and accessories
and now they are venturing into fashion, the Nala Headscarf
Collection is born.
Having one-on-one session with the founder Lisette Aline Scheers over the headscarf collection |
The founder, Lisette Aline Scheers is born and
raised in Malaysia and the multi-culture aspects of Malaysia inspire her. I
gotta say, we do have such amazing cultures and heritage that needs to be
cherished at all times. Injecting 'Malaysian' identities in our lifestyles
through contemporary approach is one of the ways to create awareness and
appreciation towards our heritage.
Malay clothing outfit,
Kebaya and also blue and white China, inspires Nala Headscarf collection. These
beautiful scarves is hand-drawn and made from 100% cotton voile, 100% rayon
GGT, 100% rayon crepe and 100% wool twill. The founder, Lisette Scheers
hand-drawn each of the patterns and silkcreened onto scarves. Therefore those
who appreciate arts, and appreciate the exclusivity will enjoy Nala headscarves very much. The price of
these headscarves collection starts at RM210 to RM579, depending on the fabric
material.
