Does anyone here suffer from sinus or allergies? How do you react and what do you do when your skin is behaving badly due to this problem? I need to go to the doctor and figure out about my sinus (which I actually self-diagnosed) because it's getting worst. Especially this month, I have been waking up in the middle of the night due to sneezing and runny nose and there are days where I couldn't sleep at all because it was so uncomfortable. And because of the sneezing and itchy nose, I have been rubbing my nose really hard to the extend that my nose area has become really dry and patchy. Not to mentioned that my skin has been quite red and slightly sensitive. It could be a direct effect from my allergies or because of the pills I took to eliminate the discomfort temporarily. What ever it is, my skin is suffering! For the longest time, I have been relying on aloe vera product (aloe vera gel to be exact) to soothe my dry skin during this time, it works but it takes a really long time to heal. This is where THE FACE SHOP Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair skincare line came into the picture.
Dr. Belmeur is the first ever cosmeceutical (cosmetics + pharmaceuticals) skincare line produced by THE FACE SHOP to help their consumers in combating dry, sensitive, eczema, oily and acne-proned skin. Cosmeceuticals are cosmetic products with biologically active ingredients implying to have medical or drug-like benefits. Well why is the skincare line is named Dr. Belmeur Don't get it wrong, even though the name of the skincare line is Dr (as in Doctor), it is not to be mistaken that the skincare is formulated by doctor. Here is the breakdown of the meaning behind the name :
Dr. Belmeur skincare products are formulated using mild plant-based ingredients and they are low irritant so it is suitable to protect problematic skin and maintaining healthy skin. For those who are into cosmeceuticals brands and find it a bit difficult to find a mid-range price point, THE FACE SHOP Dr. Belmeur is worth checking out.
Dr. Belmeur line uses it's own custom made formula called Skin-sync Rx which is a formulation that offers key skin solutions to common skin problems by skin-friendly activating of the plant-based component which is similar to the skin's structure. What does it mean? To make it simpler to understand, the similarities of plants and human skin's structure (Skin-sync) mixed with similar ingredients and function of both parties (Rx) will create personalized prescription that can provides solution to each concern skin problems.
There are 2 skincare range fall under THE FACE SHOP Dr. Belmeur line, the Daily Repair or Clarifying range. Daily Repair is dedicated to those with dry and sensitive skin or hypersensitive skin, while Clarifying line is for oily and acne prone skin. My skin falls under the Daily Repair line, therefore I'll be reviewing some of the products from this range. Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair range is targeted to reduce itchiness and redness due to dry skin, hydrates the skin and restore skin's barrier for a healthier skin. All of the products in the range is dermatologically tested to ensure that it is safe to be used by sensitive skin type. Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair range contains 3 main plants, which are Phytosphingosine (protects and strenghtens skin barrier), Moroheiya (improves hydration of skin's moisture barrier) and Birch Tree water (soothes skin and supplies moisture).

For today's post, I'll be sharing my thoughts on 3 star products from THE FACE SHOP Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair range including the Toner, Moisturizer and Ato Salt Cream.
Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Toner is a the second step that should be included after cleansing. It delivers a large amount of moisture and penetrates deeply into the skin making the skin feel refresh. Due to the Polymeric Water Gel System used in this toner, the system holds in ingredients with high moisturizing and hydrating functions. The texture is a clear watery toner with a slightly tacky finish. It contains allergen-free fragrance and only uses natural ingredients as the scent such as fresh berry, fruity and floral fragrance and musk fragrance. I absolutely love the scent, it is somehow the perfect combination of fruit and floral scent, not overpowering at all.
There are two ways of usage, I use cotton pad or I simply pour a few drops of the toner on my palm and pat it all over my face. I love the sudden fresh feeling and it feels like moisture is replenish into my skin. Do you know how some toner makes you feel tingly and tight? Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Toner does not do that all.
Next is the Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Moisturizer, a low-irritant moisturizer to sooth sensitive skin, reinstall hydration and protect the skin from harmful external environment. The white cream texture is easily absorbed into the skin making it non-greasy but rich with moisture. The texture feel like 'cloud', it is creamy and fluffy which makes application easy and smooth. The scent is almost similar to the toner and it's not overpowering. It contains allergen-free fragrance to avoid the possibility of skin's irritation.
I apply a small amount on my fingers and massage it into skin starting from neck and move upwards. I just love how smooth the application is and the fact that it is non-greasy even though it is a moisturizer for dry skin type. I noticed that the dry and patchy area around my nose is healed after 4 usage during the day, I am impressed! Usually it will take about a week to heal if I used Aloe Vera gel around my nose area.
The last product to review is Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair Ato Salt Cream, a customized moisturizer for dry skin and Atopic Eczema. Ato Salt Cream contains 8% of Dead Sea Salt which is known to relieve irritated skin due to Atopic skin. This cream is tested on Atopic Eczema skin, resulting great effects of 42% improvement of skin hydration, 28% improvement of skin barrier and eliminates flaky skin in just 4 weeks of usage. Since it is targeted for dry and Atopic Eczema skin, no artificial fragrance is added to avoid any risks of skin's agitation. I use Daily Repair Ato Salt Cream only when I feel my skin is really dry and itchy, when I need something to calm my skin.
I love using a soothing sheet mask first, then continue using the Ato Salt Cream as my night cream.You can also use it during the day, replacing the Daily Repair Moisturizer if you need extra care for your skin. The texture of the Ato Salt Cream is thick, it has this soft-melthing properties that makes it easy to massaged into skin. But it is on the heavier textured side, that's why I prefer using it at night. The best thing about this cream is that you can use it all over your body to combat dryness such as arms and leg. I love this cream, this is my saviour when my skin is really dry and itchy. It calms my skin in just one night and provided maximum hydration. This is also a great product to have if you want to spot treatment as well. Sometimes I also use the Daily Repair Moisturizer and the Ato Salt Cream at the same time during the day. I would apply the Moisturizer on my cheeks and chin area, while I would apply Ato Salt Cream on my T-zone.
Here's my overall thoughts on the 3 products from THE FACE SHOP Dr. Belmeur Daily Repairline. Firstly I love the 'clinical' inspired white and blue packaging, simple and straight to the point. I really think by using the 3 products together, really helps my skin to be better and they work so well hand-in-hand. I would really suggest for you to try the starter kit if you are interested to try the Daily Repair range especially if you have dry skin and Atopic Eczema. If I have to choose any of the products, I would choose the Ato Salt Cream because it's the one that gives more effect and soothes my irritated skin. I definitely would use this skincare line when the days my skin is acting up!
