Hi guys! My first skincare review after Eidruce's birth and I'm excited to share with all of you as I have been using this skincare range since the beginning of my confinement. THE FACE SHOP Dr. Belmeur Advanced range is an extended version of Dr. Belmeur's existing line, including 2 types which are the Daily Repair and Clarifying line.
You must be wondering, what is the difference between these 3 range, right? Fret not, here is the breakdown on Dr. Belmeur's range and you can try any of the range to suit your skin type.
♥ Dr. Belmeur Daily Repair is targeted for those with dry, sensitive and hyper-sensitive skin (READ HERE FOR MY REVIEW)
♥ Dr. Belmeur Clarifying range is for those with oily and acne-prone skin
♥ Dr. Belmeur Advanced is for improving damaged sensitive skin due to environmental stressors
Dr. Belmeur Advanced range consists of 3 important ingredients, known as SKIN-SYNC RX ADVANCED which consists of :
♥ Ceramide - Protect skin from moisture loss while installing hydration
♥ Panthenol - Low irritant moisturizing ingredient to suit sensitive skin condition
♥ Centella Asiatica Extract - Known as 'tiger grass' which has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties
The products from this range are made without the 8 additives including synthetic pigments, artificial fragrance, triethanolamine, mineral oil, bensophenone-3, ethanol, tallc and benzoic acid. They are made with 100% natural fragrance and dermatologically tested too. I received 4 products from the Advanced line, and what better ways to test them out while I'm cooped in the house for my 44 days of confinement, am I right? :D
DR. BELMEUR ADVANCED CICA RECOVERY SERUM
Dr. Belmeur Advanced Recovery Serum is a regenerating and firming serum (anti-wrinkle) that helps to lock in moisture while treating damaged sensitive skin. The texture of this serum is not the typical serum I always use. It is thicker, almost feel like a thick, creamy moisturizer. But even the texture is thick, it absorbs nicely into the skin and leave a silky smooth finish. It creates a skin-like barrier to help absorb the cream better and also to provide moisture to ensure the skin is well hydrated.
I use 2 pumps of this serum and apply it all over my face and neck for better result. It leaves my skin soft and supple, and does not make my face greasy or oily. Sometimes when I'm lazy, I just use this serum and skip the cream (which I really shouldn't have) and it helps keeping my skin moisturized through out the day. A bottle of Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Recovery Serum (50ml) is priced at RM165.
DR. BELMEUR ADVANCED CICA RECOVERY CREAM
Dr. Belmeur Advanced Recovery Cream is a daily moisturizer that is suitable for dry and sensitive skin that strengthens skin barrier while locking in moisture. It creates a skin-like barrier to protect the skin from environmental aggressors and provides soothing effect. As you can see in the photos, the texture of this cream is really thick, I would describe it as balm-y and cloud-y. It does remind me of the texture of a Vaseline. A small amount is good enough to cover my whole face and neck. I usually rub the cream between my palms and then I would massage it all over my face. Just to warm up the product to make it work better.
I actually do like the thickness feel of this cream (which is odd because sometimes I detest heavier-feel cream) because it makes my skin feel like I'm soaking in water (if that makes any sense to all of you. :P). My pregnancy skin has left me with dry and sensitive skin, and this cream really helps in soothing my skin's redness. As I mentioned earlier, this cream is on a thicker side, so a small amount will do to get that soft, hydrated and supple skin. HYALURONIC SHEET MASK
Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Hyaluronic Sheet Mask is a great pick-me up face mask if you need to boost up your skin moisture. It is a low-irritant intense moisture infused derma sheet mask, made with high purity hyaluronic acid. All the ingredients used in this sheet mask is EWG (Environmental Working Group - a non-profit to protect human health) green rated, which means each ingredients are extremely safe. The sheet mask itself is different from any sheet masks that I've tried before. The material used is a mild image of gauze that is soft and packed with the essence.
I find that the mask kind of slipped down during the 20 minutes of usage. Not sure why though. And the sheet mask is too big for me but keep in mind that I have a really small face. Most sheet masks are too big for my face. However, I love the result of this face mask because it gives me instant hydration and somehow it gives me a brightening effect. It makes my face looks lively and not dull. A good pick-me up face mask for sure! And I do feel that it soothes my tired and red skin so this is always good in my book. I find the texture is quite sticky so I would suggest to really rub in the leftover essence on the face for maximum result. HAND CREAM
Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Recovery Hand Cream is a hand cream that gives 24 hours lasting moisturizing benefit and improves the conditions of damaged nails and hands. Being a mother, hand cream is an essential for me because I do a lot of house chores especially washing dishes and this does contribute to roughness and dryness. It is said that this hand cream can improve fine scratches on hands which I agree because I can feel that my hands have become softer and less rough. The texture of the hand cream is silky soft and it applies nicely on my hands. It feels slightly greasy at first, but once I gently rub it on my hands the greasiness disappear. But I do notice that it leaves a film of layer after each application and at first it kinda bothered me, but eventually that feeling fades away after a couple of minutes. A tube of Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Recovery Hand Cream (60ml) is retail at RM50.
